Հասմիկ Պողոսյան ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարար
Հայաստանի հագեցած և բովանդակալից երաժշտական կյանքում առանձնակի տեղ ու դեր ունեն փառատոները։ Մեր հանրապետությունում ներկայումս ձևավորվում է ուրույն փառատոնային համակարգ, և այդ համակարգում Երևանյան միջազգային երաժշտական փառատոնը կարող է դառնալ ավանդական: Փառատոնի ծրագրում գրավիչ է համաշխարհային համբավ վայելող երաժիշտների մասնակցությունը, սիմֆոնիկ և կամերային համերգների, ինչպես և վարպետության դասերի գեղեցիկ համադրությունը, դասական և ժամանակակից գործերի ընդգրկումը։ Սիրով ողջունում եմ Երևանյան 2-րդ միջազգային երաժշտական փառատոնի մեկնարկը և հաջողություն մաղթում փառատոնի կազմակերպիչներին ու մասնակիցներին, իսկ արվեստասերներին ցանկանում գեղեցիկի հետ հանդիպման երջանիկ պահեր։

In the rich and interesting musical life of Armenia the festivals occupy a special place. Presently in our Republic is emerging and developing a unique festival system, in which the Yerevan International Music Festival can become a traditional one.
Featuring of a number of world known musicians, beautiful combination of symphonic and chamber concerts, including classical and contemporary repertoire, as well as master classes, make this Festival very attracting.
It is with pleasure that I greet the start of the 2nd Yerevan International Music Festival and wish much success to the organizers and participants of the Festival. To the music lovers I wish many happy moments of encounter with beautiful music.

Երևանի համերգասրահները ինչպես անցյալ տասնամյակներին, այնպես էլ վերջին տարի- ներին հյուրընկալել են համաշխարհային հռչակ ունեցող երաժիշտների, որոնք հանդես են եկել մենահամերգներով և նվագախմբերի հետ՝ անմոռանալի պահեր պարգևելով
ունկնդիրներին։
Երևանյան 2-րդ միջազգային երաժշտական փառատոնը առանձնահատուկ է նրանով, որ նրա շրջանակներում համերգներ կունենան բազմաթիվ հռչակավոր երաժիշտներ և համաշխարհային համերգասրահներում արդեն իսկ ճանաչում գտնող խոստումնալից երիտասարդներ:
Սիրով ողջունում ենք փառատոնի բոլոր մասնակիցներին և հույս հայտնում, որ սա հերթական կարևոր քայլը կլինի Հայաստանի՝ համաշխարհային կատարողական արվեստի բնագավառում ընդգրկվելու և թեկուզ իր համեստ, բայց կայուն տեղը հաստատելու ուղղությամբ։

During the past decades, as well as in recent years, the Yerevan concert halls have welcomed a number of world-known musicians who have appeared with various orchestras and in recitals, granting unforgett- able musical experiences to our audiences. The 2nd Yerevan International Music Festival is peculiar in that within the frames of the Festival, along with many outstanding artists, will appear the younger generation of promising musicians who already have performed at the prestigious international
venues.
We cordially welcome all participants of the Festival and hope that this event will be the another important step for Armenia to be included in the worlds performing arts sphere, to occupy although modest, but hopefully stable place.

Հայաստանի պետական ֆիլհարմոնիկ նվագախումբ Սկզբնավորվել է 1925-ին որպես Երևանի կոնսերվատորիայի սիմֆոնիկ նվագախումբ։ Տարբեր տարիների նվագախումբը գլխավորել են Ա.Ադամյանը, Ա.Սպենդիարյանը, Ս.Չա- րեքյանը, Գ.Բուդաղյանը, Կ.Սարաջյանը, Մ.Մալունցյանը, Օ.Դուրյանը, Մ.Տերյանը, Ռ.Վարդանյանը, Ա.Քաթանյանը, Դ.Խանջյանը, Վ.Գերգիևը, ՎՊապյանը, Մ.Ավետիսյանը և ԼՃգնավորյանը։ 2000 թվականի հոկտեմբերից ՀՊՖՆ-ի գեղարվեստական ղեկավարը և գլխավոր դիրիժորն է Էդուարդ Թոփչյանը։ Նվագախումբը դարձել է արևմտաեվրոպա- կան, ռուսական և հայ երաժշտության սիմֆոնիկ գործերի տարածողը։ Այս կոլեկտիվի հետ ելույթ են ունեցել Դավիթ Օյստրախը, Սվյատոսլավ Ռիխտերը, Մստիսլավ Ռոստրո- պովիչը, Ռենատո Բրուզոնը, Սթիվեն Իսերլիսը,Դավիդ Գերինգասը, Բերնդ Գլեմզերը, Ֆրանսուա-Ժոել Տիոլիեն և այլ հյուրեկ արտիստներ, ինչպես և Հայաստանի առաջատար մենակատարներ և սկսնակ խոստումնալից երաժիշտներ: Նվագախմբի ելույթները ղե- կավարել են Ալեքսանդր Մելիք-Փաշայանը,Վիլլի Ֆեռերոն, Ֆրանց Կոնվիչնին,Կուրտ Մազուրը և այլ հայտնի դիրիժորներ։ Հեղինակային համերգներով հանդես են եկել Ա.Խա- չատրյանը, Դ.Կաբալևսկին և այլ կոմպոզիտորներ: Սկսած 1989-ից նվագախումբը հա- մերգներով հանդես է եկել ԱՄՆ-ում,Կանադայում, Ավստրիայում, Գերմանիայում, Ֆրա- նսիայում,Շվեյցարիայում, Լյուքսեմբուրգում, Լիբանանում, Իսպանիայում, Պորտուգալի- այում, Անգլիայում, Հունաստանում, Իրանում,Կիպրոսում, Թուրքիայում,ԱՄԷ-ում և այլ երկրներում: Թողարկվել են նվագախմբի կատարումով ավելի քան 30 ձայներիզներ: 2000/01թթ. համերգաշրջանում ՀՊՖՆ-ն է.Թոփչյանի ղեկավարությամբ հաջողությամբ հանդես է եկել Մոսկվայում և Բեռլինում:2003-ի հունվարին ՀՊՖՆ-ն մասնակցել է «Արամ Խաչատրյանի երաժշտության միջազգային տարվա» բացմանը Մոսկվայում։ 2006-2007թթ. համերգաշրջանում կայացան ՀՊՖՆ-ի հյուրախաղերը Չեխիայում և Ֆրանսիայում: Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra
The Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1925 as a symphony orchestra of the Yerevan Conservatory. Over the years, conductors A.Adamian,A.Spendiarian, S.Charekian, G.Budaghian, K.Saradjian, M.Maluntsian, O.Durian, M.Terian, R.Vardanian, A.Katanian, D.Khandjian, V.Gergiev, V.Papian, M.Avetissian and L.Tjeknavorian directed the orchestra. In October 2000 Eduard Topchjan was appointed the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the APO. Since its foundation, the orchestra has performed mostof the classical repertoire. Many of the worlds_leading artists such as D. Oistrach, S. Richter, M. Rostropovich, R.Bruson, S.Isserlis, D.Geringas, B.Glemser, F-J. Thiollier_and_others, aswellppeared with this orchestra. A. Melik- Pashayev,V. Ferrero,F.Konvichny, K. Masur and several other composers have conducted the orchestra. A. Khachaturian, D. Kabalevsky and other composers have conducted their works with the accompaniment of the Armenian Philharmonic.Since 1989 the APO has toured extensively throughout the USA, Canada, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Lebanon, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Greece, Iran, Cyprus, Turkey, UAE and other countries. More than 30 CDs have been released with the orchestras recordings. During 2000-2001 season the APO directed by E. Topchjan had successful performances in Moscow and Berlin. In 2006-2007 concert season the APO toured the Czech Republic and France.

Հիմնադրվել է 1991-ին՝ Երևանի կոնսերվատորիայի և Չայկովսկու անվան ՄՄԵԴ-ի մի խումբ սովորողների ջանքերով։ Գեղարվեստական ղեկավար և դիրիժոր Էդուարդ Թոփ- չյանի ղեկավարությամբ նվագախումբը շուտով ճանաչում ստացավ Հայաստանում և Եվրոպայի մի շարք երկրներում։ Սկսած 1992-ից «Սերենադը» համերգներով պարբերա- բար հանդես է եկել Ֆրանսիայում, Գերմանիայում, Իտալիայում, Հունաստանում, Շվեյ- ցարիայում և Ավստրիայում՝ մասնակցելով միջազգային փառատոների։ Հատկապես հի- շատակելի են Փարիզում, Հռոմում, Ամստերդամում, Վիեննայում կայացած համերգները՝ Բեռլինի ֆիլհարմոնիկ նվագախմբի մենակատար ֆլեյտահար Էմանուել Պահուդի մաս- նակցությամբ և Համբուրգի Musikhalle-ում տեղի ունեցած ելույթը։ 1995-ին Հռոմում կայա- ցած «Valentino Bucchi» միջազգային մրցույթին «Սերենադը» արժանացել է 1-ին մրցա- նակին։ Մինչ այդ, կոլեկտիվն արդեն բարձրագույն գնահատական էր ստացել 1994-ին Իտալիայի Վալզոլդա քաղաքում տեղի ունեցած մրցույթում: Եվրոպայում է. Թոփչյանը ղեկավարել է «Սերենադի» ավելի քան 900 համերգ։ «Սերենադ» նվագախմբի հետ հան- դես են եկել Սթիվեն Իսերլիսը, Թիբոր Վարգան, Քիմ Քաշքաշյանը, Ռոլանդ Դայենսը և այլ անվանի երաժիշտներ։ Թողարկվել են 6 CD-ներ՝ Շյոնբերգի, Վիվալդիի, Շուբերտ - Մալերի և է. SERENADE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
"Serenade" was founded in 1991 through efforts of a group of students of the Yerevan Conserva- tory and the Tchaikovsky School of Music. Soon, the orchestra under the leadership of its artistic director and conductor Eduard Topchjan was acclaimed in Armenia and then in several European countries. Since 1992 the "Serenade" has toured extensively to France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Switzerland and Austria, performing at various international festivals. Among the most memorable performances were those in Paris, Rome, Amsterdam and Vienna with the solo flutist of the Berlin Philharmonic Emmanuel Pahud, as well as concerts at Hamburg Musikhalle. In 1995 the “Sere- nade" won the 1st Prize at the Valentino Bucchi International Competition in Rome. Prior to that, in 1994 the orchestra topped the contesters' list at the competition in the Italian city of Valzolda. E.Topchjan has led more than 900 concerts of the "Serenade" throughout Europe. Many renow- ned musicians, such as Steven Isserlis, Tibor Varga, Kim Kashkashian, Roland Dayens have performed with the ensemble. The orchestra has released 6 CDs with the works of Shoenberg, Vivaldi, Schubert-Mahler and E. Mirzoyan on Thorophon label.

Էդուարդ Թոփչյան, դիրիժոր (Հայաստան) Որպես ջութակահար ավարտել է Երևանի կոնսերվատո- րիան, որտեղ նաև դիրիժորության դասեր է առել Օհան Դուրյանից: Նրա իբրև երաժշտի կայացման ճանապար- հին մեծ էր Սըր Ջորջ Շոլթիի, Կլաուդիո Աբբադոյի և Նելլո Սանտիի արժեքավոր խորհուրդների դերը: Դիրիժորությամբ սկսեց զբաղվել 1991-ից, երբ կոնսեր- վատորիայի իր ընկերներից ստեղծեց «Սերենադ» կամե- րային նվագախումբը: Շուտով նվագախումբն անուն վաս- տակեց Հայաստանում և Եվրոպայում Տեղի ունեցան հյուրախաղեր, ձայնագրություններ: «Սերենադը» դար- ձավ միջազգային մրցույթի դափնեկիր: 2000-ից Թոփչյանը նշանակվել է Հայաստանի պետական ֆիլհարմոնիկ նվա- գախմբի գեղարվեստական ղեկավար և գլխավոր դիրիժոր: Նրա գլխավորած նվագախմբի ելույթները Հայաստանում և արտասահմանում արժանացան մամուլի և հանդիսատեսի բարձր գնահատանքին:Գերմանիայի Bad Fussing փառատոն (2000), ելույթներ Մոսկվայում (2001, 2003), «Մորավյան աշուն» փառատոն (Չեխիա, 2006), որին անմիջականորեն հաջորդեցին այցը Նյուրնբերգ (Գերմանիա), հյուրախաղեր Նիցա, Վալանս, Մարսել, Լիոն, Սենթ Էթիեն և այլ քաղաքներում («Ֆրանսիայում Հայաստանի տարվա» շրջանակներում, 2007)՝ ահա մի քանիսը միայն ՀՊՖՆ-ի արտասահմանյան ուղևորություններից: Սիմֆոնիկ և կամերային ծրագրերի կողքին Թոփչյանը մեծ նշանակություն է տալիս օպերաների կատարումներին՝ՀՊՖՆ-ի և Հայաստանի, ինչպես և արտասահմանյան լավագույն երգիչների ուժերով։ Այդպիսի համերգային բեմակա- նացումներից են «Աիդա», «Սևիլյան սափրիչը», «Թիկնոցը», «Մադամ Բաթերֆլայ», «Սիմոն Բոկանեգրա», «Ռիգոլետո», «Պայացներ», «Օթելլո» օպերաները։ Էդուարդ Թոփչյանի ղեկավարությամբ մեծ հաջողությամբ ելույթ են ունեցել մեծանուն արտիստներ Սթիվեն Իսերլիսը, Դավիդ Գերինգասը, Ռենատո Բրուզոնը և այլք։ Իբրև հրավիրյալ դիրիժոր Թոփչյանը հանդես է եկել Եվրոպայի և ԱՄՆ-ի սիմֆոնիկ, օպերային և ռադիո նվագախմբերի հետ: 2007-ից Էդուարդ Թոփչյանը Երևանի միջազգային երաժշտական ամենամյա փառատոնի նախաձեռնողը և գեղարվեստական ղեկավարն է (թավջութակահար Ալեքսանդր Չաուշյանի հետ համատեղ):
Eduard Topchjan, conductor (Armenia)
Eduard Topchjan studied violin at the Yerevan Conservatory and went on to study conducting with Ohan Durian. Further on he got valuable consultations from Sir George Solti, Claudio Abbado and Nello Santi. Topchjan started conducting in 1991, when with a group of his friends from the Yerevan conservatory he created the Serenade Chamber Orchestra. The Serenade at once earned a fine reputation in Armenia and Europe. The orchestra toured extensively, made recordings and became the prize winner of International competition. Eduard Topchjan made his debut with the APO in 2000, when an orchestra comprised of the Serenade Chamber Orchestra musicians and a group of leading APO musicians had a successful appearance at Bad Fussing Festival, Germany. The same year he was appointed the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the APO and started successful appearances with the APO in Yerevan, Moscow (2001,2003), at "Moravian Autumn" festival (Czech Republic, 2006), Nurnberg (Germany, 2006), tours throughout France within the framework of "The Year of Armenia in France" (Nice, Valance, Marseille, Lyon, Saint Etienne and other cities, 2007). These are a few of the APO tours during his conductorship. Along with the symphonic and chamber works Topchjan pays much attention to operatic repertoire. With the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra and the renowned local and guest artists he has performed the operas "Aida", "The Barber of Seville", "ll Tabarro", "Madama Butterfly", "Simone Boccanegra", "Rigoletto", "I Pagliacci" and "Otello". A number of celebrated artists have appeared under the baton of Eduard Topchjan, such as Steven Isserlis, David Geringas, Renato Bruson, Kim Kashkashian, Alexei Lyubimov, Bernd Glemser, Tibor Varga, Francois-Joel Thiollier, Bernard Ringeissen, Mischa Maisky, Boris Berezovsky, Sergey Khachatryan, Isabel Bayrakdarian, Sergei Babayan, Julia Fischer to name a few. As a guest conductor he has appeared with many important symphony, chamber and radio orchestras in Europe and USA. Since 2007, Eduard Topchjan is the initiator and Artistic Director (together with cellist Alexander Chaushian) of the annual Yerevan International Music Festival, which aims to introduce the best Armenian and internationally known musicians to the audience.

Ֆաբիո Մաստրանջելո, դիրիժոր (Իտալիա) Ծնվել է 1965-ին Բարիում (Իտալիա)։ Որպես դաշնակա- հար և դիրիժոր սովորել է Բարիի, Ժնևի, Լոնդոնի, Տորոն- տոյի բարձրագույն երաժշտական հաստատություններում։ Հաճախել է Ալդո Չիկոլինիի, Սեյմյոր Լիպկինի, Պաուլ Բա- դորա-Սկոդայի, Լեոնարդ Բերնսթայնի, Կարլ Օսթերայ- խերի, Նեեմե Յարվիի և Յորմա Պանուլայի վարպետու- թյան դասընթացներին։ Օսիմոյի և Հռոմի դաշնամուրային մրցույթների 1-ին մրցանակակիր է: Ֆ.Մաստրանջելոն Նովոսիբիրսկի, Թաթարստանի, Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի նվագախմբերի, Եկատերինբուրգի օպերային թատրոնի և Մարիինյան թատրոնի (Սանկտ Պետերբուրգ) հրավիրյալ դիրիժոր է։ Ղեկավարել է Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի կոնսերվատորիայի օպերային ստուդիայի ներկայացումները: 1996-ին հիմնել է «Տորոնտոյի վիրտուոզներ» կամերային նվագախումբը։ Տարբեր տարիների ելույթներ է ունեցել Իտալիայում, Ճապոնիայում, Ռուսաստանում, Ֆինլանդիայում, Ռումինիայում, ԱՄՆ-ում, Ֆրանսիայում, Լատվիայում՝ ղեկավարելով տարբեր քաղաքների հայտնի սիմֆոնիկ և կամերային նվագախմբեր: Որպես դաշնակահար իրագործել է Մոցարտի դաշնամուրի կոնցերտների ծավալուն ցիկլը՝միաժամանակ ղեկավարելով նաև նվագակցող նվագախումբը։
Մասնակցել է միջազգային փառատոների և թողարկել բազմաթիվ CD-ներ: Ֆաբիո Մաստրանջելոյի ընդարձակ երկացանկն ընդգրկում է օպերաներ, օպերետներ, օրա - տորիալ և սիմֆոնիկ ստեղծագործություններ։ Նա հրավերներ է ստացել Ռուսաստանի, Իտալիայի, Գերմանիայի, Լիտվայի առաջատար նվագախմբերից և օպերային թատրոններից՝մոտակա համերգաշրջաններում ելույթ ունենալու համար:
Fabio Mastrangelo, conductor (Italy)
Born in 1965 in Bari (Italy). As a pianist and conductor he has studied at musical institutions of Bari, Geneva, London and Toronto. He attended masterclasses with Aldo Ciccolini, Seymour Lipkin, and Paul Badura-Skoda, Leonard Bernstein, Karl Osterreicher, Neeme Jarvi and Jorma Panula. Fabio Mastrangelo has won the 1st prize in the piano competitions of Osimo and Rome. Within a short period of time, Fabio Mastrangelo has been appointed in rapid succession Principal Guest Conductor of the Novosibirsk Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Tatarstan and the State Hermitage Orchestra, as well as Artistic Director of the "Camerata Ensemble" of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic. In addition, he is Principal Guest Conductor of both the Ekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater. In September '07, he made his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre conducting Tosca. In June 08, debuted at the prestigious St. Petersburgs "Stars of the White Nights" Festival replacing at the last minute Valery Gergiev. He has led the opera productions of the St.Petersburg Conservatorys Opera Studio. In 1996 he founded the charnber orchestra Virtuosi di Toronto. In different years Fabio Mastrangelo has toured Italy, Japan, Russia, Finland, Romania, the US, France, Latvia conducting the leading symphony and chamber orchestras. As a pianist, Fabio Mastrangelo has performed an extended cycle of Mozart Piano Concertos with the Hart House Chamber Strings, conducting from the keyboard. Mr.Mastrangelo has participated in a number of International festivals and has released CDs.
His wide-ranging repertoire includes operas, operettas, oratories and symphonic works. Future engagements include appearances as a guest conductor in Russia, Italy, Germany, Lithuania with famous orchestras and opera theatres. As a guest conductor he has led the National Academy Orchestra (Hamilton), the Windsor Symphony, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa), the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, the Brantford Symphony, the University of North Carolina Symphony (Greensboro), as well as the Szeged Symphony (Hungary), the Parnu Symphony (Estonia), the National Symphony of Ukraine (Kiev), the Wiener Festival Strings (Heiligenkreuzer Herbst Festival), the Berliner Philharmonisches Kammerorchester, the philharmonic orchestras of Tampere (Finland), Bacau (Romania), Nice (France), and the Sinfonietta Riga. He is often heard in recitals with the Russian 'cellist Sergei Slovachevsky, with whom he released two CDs for the Japanese label Ongaku-no-Tomo, and with his wife flutist Olesia Tertychnaia. In Ekaterimburg he has undertaken_repertoire performances of Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Boheme, Rigoletto, Traviata, and Evgeny Onegin, (also Prokofieffs Romeo and Julia, and Tchaikovskys Nutcracker). Yet upcoming is Boheme in Bari (Svetla Vassileva), as well as Lucia di Lammermoor in Minsk.

Հիմնադրվել է 1992-ին խմբավար Սոնա Հովհաննիսյանի նախաձեռնությամբ։ Երգչախումբը միջազգային մրցույթների դափնեկիր է (1997՝ Իտալիա, 1999՝ Ֆրանսիա), առաջին համաշխարհային խմբերգային օլիմպիադայի ոսկե մեդալակիր (2000թ.): «Հովերի» ընդարձակ երկացանկն ընդգրկում է հին վարպետների և ժամանակակից կոմպոզիտորների ստեղծագործություններ, օպերաներ և օրատորիալ գործեր: Իրականացվել են թատերականացված փորձարարական ծրագրեր, հայ և այլազգի կոմպոզիտորների գործերի պրեմիերաներ։
Ձայնագրվել են 6 CD-ներ, «Շողակաթ» հեռուստաընկերության հետ թողարկվել է անիմացիոն տեսաֆիլմ: Երգչախումբը համագործակցում է ՀՊՖՆ-ի և «Սերենադ» կամերային նվագախմբի հետ: Մասնակցել է «Արարատ», «Արտույտների ագարակ», «Նամուս» ֆիլմերի երաժշտական ձևավորման աշխատանքներին։ «Հովերի» համերգներն Իտալիայում, Ֆրանսիայում, Մեծ Բրիտանիայում, Գերմանիայում և Լեհաստանում արժանացել են մամուլի բարձր գնահատանքին։ Սոնա Հովհաննիսյանը պարգևատրվել է ՀՀ Մշակույթի նախարարության ոսկե մեդալով:
Hover Chamber Choir
Hover Chamber Choir was founded in 1992 on the initiative of choirmaster Sona Hovhannisyan. The Choir is a Laureate of International Competitions (1997, Italy, 1999 France) as well as Gold Medal win-
ner of the 1st World Choir Olympiad (2000). The Choirs repertoire includes works of the old masters, contemporary composers, operas and oratories. The Hover Chamber Choir has realized also theatrical-experimental programs, premieres of works by the Armenian and foreign composers. 6 CDs have been released. In collaboration with the TV company "Shoghakat" the choir has released an animation film. The choir collaborates with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Serenade Chamber Orchestra. Hover Chamber Choir has contributed to soundtracks of movies "Ararat", "The Farm of Larks" and "Namous". The Choir has given concerts in Italy, France, UK, Germany and Poland receiving highest critical acclaim. Sona Hovhannisian has been awarded with the Gold Medal of the Ministry of Culture of RA.

Sona Hovhannisyan, choirmaster
Sona Hovhannisyan was born in 1963 into a musicians family in Yerevan. She graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory (1989) and postgraduate courses (1993, class of R.Mangasarian). She has directed a number of choirs, In 1992, Sona founded the Hover Chamber Choir. She is Assistant Professor at the Choir Conducting department of the Yerevan Conservatory.

Levon Chilingirian, violin (UK)
Levon Chilingirian was born in Cyprus. When the Chilingirian family immigrated to London in 1960, Levon concentrated on the violin, studying at the Royal College of Music where he is now a professor. His early influences in music were his uncle, the violinist Manoug Parikian and his teacher Hugh Bean. His long-standing partnership with Clifford Benson was launched by winning the first prizes in both the 1969 BBC Beethoven_Competition and the 1971 Munich Duo International Competition. Recital appearances have taken the duo to most European countries. In 1971 Levon formed The Chilingirian Quartet with three other ex-RCM students. The Quartet has held residencies at Liverpool and Sussex Universities and is currently attached to the Royal College of Music. It is one of the most active and celebrated string quartets on the international scene with a wide-ranging quartet repertoire. It has toured to over fifty countries on six continents. Levon Chilingirian was invited to give the String Master Class for the BBC TVs Young Musician of the Year and has appeared as soloist with the BBC Symphony, London Philharmonic, Bournemouth, Liverpool Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber, Bergen Philharmonic, Armenian Philharmonic, and Russian National Orchestras. He has received the Cobbett Medal, the Royal Philharmonic Society's chamber music award and, in January 2000, an OBE in the Queen's Honours List for his "services to music". Chilingirian has collaborated with a number of famous musicians, such as Steven Isserlis, Sir Andrew Davis, Jeremy Menuhin, Tadaki Otaka, William McVicker, Ani and Ida Kavafians, Alexander Chaushian to name a few. He has recorded many critically acclaimed CDs. By playing and directing the Camerata Roman, Levon has become an important part of Swedish musical life since 1996. In Armenia, Chilingirian has organised two competitions for young string players since 2000 and in May 2002. Levon Chilingirian is also the
artistic director of the Mendlessohn on Mull festival.

Alexander Ghindin, piano (Russia)
Russian pianist Alexander Ghindin graduated from Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory after completing masterclass studies with Professor M.S. Voskrensky in 2001. Aged 13 he had already won the Moscow Young Pianists' Competition, and at 14 became youngest ever winner at the 10th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1994, later gaining Second Prize at Brussels International Reine Elisabeth Competition in 1999. In 2007 Alexander Ghindin won the 1st prize at the Cleveland International Competition in USA. Alexander Ghindin subsequently joined the Moscow State Philharmonic as soloist in 1999, and during his ensuing solo and orchestral career has performed in his native Russia, as well as in Europe and Japan. The numerous ensembles and orchestras he has played with include the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, London and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, Orchester der Stadt Freiburg, New Japan Philharmonic, the Philharmonie de Liege, Flemish Radio, the Swedish Royal Festival Orchestra, Orchestre National de Belgique, Rotterdam_Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonique_de_Monte-Carlo, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Philharmonie de Luxembourgh, Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi, Russian National Orchestra etc. The recitals provided the opportunity to work with a wide range of conductors, including Vladimir Fedosseyev, Saulus Sandeczkis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Vladimir Spivakov, Paavo Jarvi, Leonard Slatkin, Thomas Zanderling and many others. Alexander Ghindin has featured in numerous festivals, including those in Moscow, Stockholm, Echternach, Luxembourg, Colmar, La Roque d'Antheron, Brussels, Limoges, the Montpellier Festival de Radio France, le Chatelet in Paris, Auditorium du Louvre, Sintra Festival in Portugal, Ruhr Klavier- Festival, Filharmonia Warscawa, and the Osaka International Festival. Yuri Zhislin
violin, viola (UK)
Born in 1974. Yuri studied the violin at the Moscow Gnessin Music School for musically giufted children and later at the Royal College of Music with his father, Grigori Zhislin and Dr. Felix Andrievsky. Yuri is a Laureate and major prize-winner of various international competitions: the Carmel Competition in California, Premio Trio di Trieste in Italy, Pablo Sarasate in Spain and Douai Violin Competition in France among others. He appeared in major concert halls through- out the world, performing at the Wigmore Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, the Concertgebouw and gave recitals and performed with various orchestras in his native Russia and in the UK, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Spain, France, Germany, Yugoslavia, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the USA, Australia and New Zealand. Yuri has made a number of recordings and appeared in live broadcasts on the BBC Radio Two, Radio Three and various classical networks throughout Europe and the USA. The conductors Yuri colaborated with include Olari Elts, Barry Wandsworth, Alexander Markovich, Yakov Voldman, Alex Walker and Maximiano Valdes among many others. Yuri is in high demand at the international festivals around the world. He appears as a soloist and a chamber musician in festivals throughout the UK: Bath, Chichester, Cheltenham, Windsor, Ulverston, and the Asturias Festivities (Spain), Cadaques (Spain), Seattle (USA), Baku (Azerbaijan), Hohenems (Austria), March Music Days in Rousse (Bulgaria), Varberg (Sweden), Pharos (Cyprus) and in Gensac (France) among others. As a violist, Yuri regularly appears in a String Trio with the eminent violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky and outstanding cellist Alexander Chaushian. Yuri is a founder and Artistic Director of the Russian Virtuosi of Europe an ensemble that brings together some of the finest Russian musicians who are now based in Western Europe. He is an Artistic Director of the Evaristo Valle Interna- tional Music Festival in Spain and professor of violin at the Royal College of Music in London.

Daishin Kashimoto, violin (Japan)
First prize winner of such renowned competitions as the 6th Menuhin International Junior Violin Competition in England in 1993, the International Competition for Violinists in Cologne in 1994 and in 1996, both the International Fritz_Kreisler_Violin_Competition in Vienna and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Competition for Piano and Violin in Paris. A Japanese national born in London in 1979, Daishin Kashimoto has already been recognized internationally by performing under renowned Maestros such as Seiji Ozawa, Lorin Maazel, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Fedoseev, Evgeny Svetlanov, Michel Plasson, Semyon Bychkov, Mariss Jansons, Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Myung-Whun Chung, and others. Began studying violin in Tokyo at the age of three under Kumiko Eto. He moved to New York in 1985, and in the following year, he was accepted by the pre-college division of The Juilliard School as its youngest student where he studied under Naoko Tanaka. Since then he has given recitals and solo appearances in New York, Vienna, London, Moscow, Rome, Paris, Tokyo and many major cities in Germany.He moved to Lubeck, Germany in 1990 to accept an invitation to study under Prof. Zakhar Bron at the Lubeck Musikhochshule. Later, he continued his studies under Prof. Rainer Kussmaul at Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg. Daishin is also active in the field of chamber music, and he has performed number of concerts with noted musicians such as Itamar Golan, Yuri Bashmet, Gidon
Kremer, Mischa Maisky, Gerard Caussee and others. Since 2000, he has been invited to perform chamber music with Myung-Whun Chung both in Japan and Korea. Following a success in 2004, he has been invited every summer to a chamber music festival in Salon de Province (France). Starting from 2005, Daishin has appeared in la Folle Journee festival in both Nantes (France) and in Tokyo. He made a recital debut at Louvre in Paris in October, 2006. Daishin has signed an international contract with Sony Classical NY and his debut CD has been released in various countries. Philippe Cassardi, piano (France)
Philippe Cassard has established an international reputation as concerto soloist, recitalist and chamber musician since giving a joint recital with Christa Ludwig in Paris in 1985. The same year he was finalist at the Clara Haskil Competition and in 1988 he won the first prize in the GPA (now AXA) Dublin International Piano Competition.
His concerto appearances include performances with the London Philharmonic, Royal Philhar- monic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, English Chamber, BBC Phi- Iharmonic, Orchestre National de France, the Hungarian National Philharmonic, Danish Radio Symphonic and other orchestras. He has worked with many conductors including Jeffrey Tate, Vladimir Fedossejev, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Raymond Leppard, Charles Dutoit, Armin Jordan, Marek Janowski, Emmanuel Krivine, Thierry Fischer to name a few. Philippe Cassard has done several recordings: Debussys complete piano work, chamber music, and songs by Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy, Janacek and Faure. For Deutsche Grammophon he has recorded with the cellist Matt Haimovitz and for Hyperion Records Jean Francaix's Concertino.His last recording with solo pieces by Schumann was awarded Gramophone Editor's Choice and FM Magazine "Best Buy". A recording of Schuberts Impromptus will be released in Spring 2008 (Universal). His performance of the complete piano works of Debussy (four recitals in a single day) received extremely enthusiastic press and media coverage. He has performed the cycle in London Wigmore Hall, Dublin, Paris, Marseille, Lisbon, Sydney, Vancouver, Singapore and Tokyo. He also visits China, Australia and Canada regulary. Philippe Cassard is artistic director of the, Festival des Nuits Romantiques du Lac du Bourget (Savoy), and producer of a weekly live programme on France Musique Radio devoted to the interpretation of the piano repertoire.

Tamaki Kawakubo, violin (USA)
Tamaki Kawakubo belongs to the most remarkable up-and-coming artists in the subject violin and has proven her exceptional skills in numerous competitions. At the age of only five years Tamaki Kawakubo began her violin studies in Los Angeles at the Colburn School of Performing Arts. She won her first prizes at some of the most important competitions in the USA at a very young age and became a first prize winner of the International Violin Competition Pablo Sarasate 2001. Ensuing, she won the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. After studies in Lubeck and Cologne, she is now studying under Prof. Zakhar Bron in Zurich. Her extraordinary virtuoso skills, her intuitive intonation and distinct charisma already thrill concert audiences around the globe. Particularly in Japan she gives regularly concerts with the leading orchestras (e.g. NHK Orchestra) at the most important cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. She has appeared with many famous orchestras such as the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Peking Symphony Orchestra as well as the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Soon she will have a great European tour together with Fabio Luisi, Christoph Eschenbach, Vladimir Fedoseyev and Kent Nagano. Her interpretations of P. Tchaikovsky's violin concerts in San Francisco were celebrated with superlatives by the press and with standing ovations by the enthusiastic audience. Recently, Tamaki Kawakubo presented a CD-recording with violin concertos of Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. Tamaki Kawakubo plays the Stradivarius violin 1736 "Muntz" from the Nippon Music Foundation.

Arax Mukhsi-Hoveyan, piano (Armenia)
Born in 1981 in Yerevan. She has studied at Music Schools of H.Danielian and A.Spendiarian (class of Inessa Hakhnazarian) and at the Yerevan Conservatory. Arax has been a member of the “New Names” program. She is a 1st prize winner of the Arno Babajanian Competition (1993, 1996), Festival-Competition “Debut”, “My Independent and Free State is 5 years old" (Armenia) and International Piano Competitions (France). Arax Mukhsi-Hoveyan has appeared with concerts in UK, Switzerland, Russia, Lebanon and Syria.

Stephen Hough, piano (UK)
He has appeared regularly with major American and European orchestras under conductors including Abbado, Ashkenazy, Dutoit, Gergiev, Maazel and Vanska. He gives recitals regularly in major halls and concert series across the world, and has been a frequent guest at festivals such as Salzburg, Edinburgh and Aldeburgh in Europe and Mostly Mozart (New York), Aspen, Ravinia, Tanglewood, Blossom and the Hollywood Bowl in the US. At London's BBC Proms he has made over a dozen concerto appearances. Stephen Hough's recent engagements include performances with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, London Symphony, London Philharmonic, and the orchestras of Detroit, Cincinnati, Toronto, and Houston. In the 2006/07 season he returned to the Cleveland and Minnesota Orchestras, the San Francisco, St Louis, Montreal Symphonies, and made his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic, under Sir Simon Rattle. In the current season, Stephen undertakes an extensive tour in Australia, returns to the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic, and tours the US with the Russian National Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski. Still in the US, he will be giving recitals at Aspen, Carnegie's Zankel Hall and the International Gilmore Keyboard Festival, amongst others. Among his Europe dates feature the Espoo International Piano Festival in Finland and live broadcast performances with NDR Hannover. Stephen has a catalogue of over 40 CDs, many of which have won prizes; from Gramophone Magazine (seven Awards including 'Record of the Year in 1996 and 2003), Deutsche Schallplattenpreis, Diapason dOr, Monde de la Musique, as well as several Grammy nominations. His 2005 live recording of the Rachmaninov Piano Concertos with Dallas Symphony and Andrew Litton became the fastest selling recording in Hyperion's history, and his 1987 recording of Hummel concertos is Chandos best-selling disc to date. His future plans include live recordings of all of Tchaikovsky's works for piano and orchestra with the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as solo discs of Mozart and Chopin. He has published numerous original works and transcriptions with Josef Weinberger Ltd and conducted the world premiere of his cello concerto, The Loneliest Wilderness, with Steven Isserlis and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in March 2007. Zandra McMaster was born in Northern Ireland, and she lives now in Spain, having a very versatile activity, singing opera, oratorio, concerts with orchestra, chamber music and recitals. She has sang, among others, with the_Berliner Symphoniker, London Mozart Players, Bournemouth Sinfonietta, Hungarian Radio Orchestra, Lyon National Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Norway Radio Symphony Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony, Norrkoping Symphony, Colorado Festival Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg, Poznan Symphony Orchestra, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, NDR Hannover, StaatsPhilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Wurttembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Slovak Philharmonic, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Aalborg Symphony, and with the most important Spanish orchestras. She has sang Rosina in the "Barber of Seville" by Rossini, Orfeo in "Orfeo ed Euridice" by Gluck, Yniold in "Pelleas et Melisande" by Debussy, Alisa in "Lucia di Lammermoor" by Donizetti and Agnese in Bellinis "Beatrice di Tenda". In Summer 2005 she gave a recital in Spoleto Festival in Italy, with pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, for the birthday of Giancarlo Menotti. Later, in Summer 2006 she sang again with Thibaudet in Mallorca Festival. Last concerts took her to Germany, where she sang "Kindertotenlieder" by Mahler in Germany, took part in the world premiere tour of the Mass in C by Leopold Mozart, sang "L'Enfance du Christ" by Berlioz conducted by John Nelson and Beethoven Ninth in Lyon with Jun Markl, recorded in CD for Altus Music Japan.

Svetlana Navassardian, piano (Armenia)
"Captivating with her versatile talent, Svetlana Navassardian can be the adornment of any stage" (Emil Gilels). Winner of 4 International Competitions "the great Armenian pianist" (as she has been acclaimed by the foreign press), has performed in more than 40 countries and participated in prestigious international festivals. From 1959-64 Navassardian studied at R.Melikian Musical College and from 1964-68 at the Yerevan Conservatory (class of Prof. Umr-Shat). In 1968 she continued her musical training at the Moscow Conservatory and post graduate courses under the tutorship of Prof.J.Zak. Navassardian's wide-ranging repertoire includes more than 60 concertos, as well as monographic concerts. Performing activity of the pianist has greatly contributed to creation of new piano compositions by the Armenian composers, many of which were dedicated to her. In 1984 Svetlana Navassardian was decorated with the title of the People's Artist of RA. For the cycle of performances of the Bach Piano Concertos Navassarsian was awarded with the Armenian State Prize.Professor of the Yerevan Conservatory S. Navassardian gives also masterclasses in various musical institutions of Canada, France and Japan.

Gor Hovhannisyan, viola (Armenia)
Born in 1975 in Yerevan. Studied_with_Prof. Levon Zoryan (Sayat-Nova _ School of Music), Distinguished Teacher of RA Petros Haykazian (Tchaikovsky School of Music), Professors Suren Hakhnazarian, Alexander Kosemian (Yerevan Conservatory) and Prof. Carol Rodland (Berlin Hans Eisler Academy and Arizona State University). Gor continued his further training with Kim Kashkashian at Boston New England Conservatory. He has participated in a number of European music festivals. Alexander Chaushian

Alexander Chaushian started to play the cello at the age of seven,studying with his grandfather Alexander Chaushian Sr and Zare Sarkisian. From 1992 to 1995, he studied at the Yehudi Menuhin_School with Melissa Phelps_and_from 1995 to 1999 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London as a student of Oleg Kogan. In 2003 he pursued advanced studies at the Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Boris Pergamenschikow and later with David Geringas.Chaushian is the First Prize_winner_of_the_1990 Premio Mozart Competition (Verona) and the 1992 International Music Competition in Holland. He received the Guilhermina Suggia Gift_in_London - a grant awarded to outstanding string players. In 1997, he was awarded the Orchestra of New England Soloist Prize, as well as the first Summis Auspiciis Prize of Young Concert Artists. He is a joint recipient of the Pierre Fourier Award. He was awarded the third prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the 3rd and special prizes given by the Munich Chamber Orchestra at the Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD. As a soloist with orchestra, Alexander has performed with many orchestras worldwide, including the Boston Pops Orchestra, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Philharmonia Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Royal National Orchestra of Belgium,Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, The Academy of St Martin's in the Field and others. Alexander Chaushian has perfomed at a number of prestigious venues like the Boston Symphony Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, New York Carnegie Hall, London Wigmore,Queen Elizabeth, Royal Festival and Barbican halls, to name a few. Chaushian has given recitals at many international Festivals. From 2002 until the present he has acted as the artistic director of the Orpheus and Bacchus Festival in France and of the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival in Cyprus. Alexander Chaushian has collaborated with many distinguished musicians such as Levon Chilingirian, David Geringas, Yuri Bashmet,Gidon Kremer and many others.
Diemut Poppen, viola (Germany)
Diemut Poppen is one of the most eminent viola soloists of her generation. Born in 1960 in Germany, she started taking violin lessons at the age of 7, and gave her first recital at 9. She then showed a special preference to chamber music, changing to the viola. She pursued her studies in Germany, the US, and Paris_with_great teachers such as K. Kashkashian, B. Giuranna, J. Bashmet, G. Janzer, and H. Schlichtig. She was also taught by Sandor Vegh, Nathan Milstein, the Amadeus quartet, Sasha Schneider, and Oleg Kagan, who were a_major influence. She completed her studies with various scholarships and many awards. Today Diemut Poppen is greatly appreciated in her field. As a soloist she has given recitals at the world's most prominent venues, with such renowned conductors as Heinz Holliger, Frans Bruggen at the London Barbican Centre, and Claudio Abbado at the New York Carnegie Hall. She has also played at various chamber music festivals along with famous names such as L. Kavakos (Athens), C. Abbado (Berlin, Lucerne), A. Schiff (Salzburg, Mondsee), G. Kremer (Lockenhaus), B. Pergamenschikov (KՓIn), T. Mork (Stavanger), I. v. Keulen (Delft), and N. Gutman (Kreuth). Furthermore, Diemut Poppen was co-founder of the European Chamber Orchestra and the first viola for 15 years in that ensemble. She is also known for her teaching activities throughout Europe, including teaching the viola and chamber music at Detmold, Germany, as well as many international music seminars annually. She is artistic director at the Detmold Summer Music Academy. From 1997 to 2002 she was artistic director at the Osnabrucker Karmmerrnusiktage chamber music ensemble at Osnabruck, Germany, and cooperated with some of the world's most prominent musicians, like L. Kavakos, Natalia Gutman, Charles Neidich, and V. Lobanov. Once a year she collaborates with Claudio Abbado at the renowned Lucerne festival orchestra. She has a broad repertoire, covering a wide musical range, from classical to contemporary. Known composers have written music especially for her, such as the viola concerts by Mikhail Pletnev, Vassily Lobanov, and the Styx by G. Kancheli for viola and orchestra. She has recorded with major labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Cappricio, Live classics, EMI, Tudor, Ondine, and others. She has also been a member of the jury at several international competitions such as the ARD competition.

Alexander Sitkovetsky
violin (UK)
Alexander Sitkovetsky was born in Moscow in 1983 into a family with an established musical tradition. He was invited to become a pupil at the Yehudi Menuhin School where he studied with Natalia Boyarsky and Professor Hu Kun. He continued his studies with Hu Kun at the Royal Academy of Music. Alexander participated in Master classes given by Lord Menuhin, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Maya Glezarova, Maxim Vengerov and others. Currently Alexander is studying with Professor Pavel Vernikov. Together with Lord Menuhin he has performed the Bach Double Violin Concerto, as well as Bartoks Duos. In 1996, Alexander played Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in Budapest with Lord Menuhin conducting. Alexander has performed in many international mu- sic festivals throughout Europe, including the Radio France Festival, the Festival Internationale des Jeunes Solistes in Antibes, the Festa Torino, the International Music Academy in Tours, the Music Festival in Oldenburg, at the Verbier Music Festival and Academy in Switzerland, at the Tuscan Sun Festival, and the Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival.
He has been featured as a soloist at many famous venues throughout Europe, including The Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall, St. Johns Smith Square in London, Salla Verdi in Milano, Palais des Congres in Antibes and others.
He has released CDs on Angel Records (a part of Capitol/EMI Classics group) and on other famous labels. Alexander is also an accomplished composer. His two orchestral ballet scores were_premiered in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Dance in 1995 and in 1999 at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London. He has given a solo recital at London's Royal Festival Hall, as well as debut performances in New York where he appeared at the Frick Collection Series partnered by Bella Davidovich. Alexander has collaborated with the Moscow Chamber Orc- hestra under the baton of Constantin Orbelian in the concert tour throughout Germany, Italy, Russia and Japan. In 2006-2007 he made his debut with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Southbank Sinfonia, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ashley Wass piano (UK)
Ashley Wass studied at Chethams Music School and won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music to study with Christopher Elton and Hamish Milne. He has spent three summers as a participant at the Marlboro Music Festival, playing chamber music with musicians such as Mitsuko Uchida, Richard Goode and members of the Guarneri Quartet and Beaux Arts Trio. Wass has given recitals at most of the major UK concert halls including the Wigmore Hall, Symphony Hall, the Purcell Room, LSO St. Luke's, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Sage, Bridgewater Hall, St. Davids Hall, and at the festivals of Bath, Harrogate, Cheltenham, Brighton and the City of London. His has appeared with many famous orchestras such as the Philharmonia, the Orchestre National de Lille, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and others. Wass has also worked with Sir Simon Rattle and the CBSO, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Mozart Players, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic. Future engagements include concerts with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Sinfonia Viva, the Portuguese Symphony and the London Mozart Players, recitals in Amsterdam, Cyprus, Lisbon, Istanbul, Chicago, Mexico City, St. John's Smith Square, Wigmore Hall, the Sage, St. David's Hall, Bridgewater Hall and LSO St. Luke's. Ashley is also much in demand as a chamber musician. He toured the USA and Europe with violinist Sarah Chang, appearing at venues such as Philadelphia's Kimmel Center, La Jolla, Dublin's National Concert Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York. He is also the Artistic Director of the Lincolnshire International Chamber Music Festival. Ashley Wass' recordings on EMI and Naxos labels have received the highest critical acclaim.

lan Fountain, piano (UK)
In 1989 lan Fountain became the youngest winner of the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Masters Competition in Tel Aviv at the age of 19.
Since that time he has performed extensively throughout Europe, the USA, the UK and the Far East, with orchestras such as the London Symphony and Sir Colin Davis, the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta, and the Czech Philharmonic and Jiri Belohlavek. He has also performed with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Halle, CBSO, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Singapore Symphony and Utah Symphony amongst many others. In Moscow he was invited to open the 1992/3 season of the Moscow Conservatroie and in Poland he he marked the 150th anniversary of Chopin's death by playing both Chopin Concertos in Krakow. As recitalist, he has performed in major centres such as New York, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Jerusalem. He is a regular guest of international festivals such as Prague Spring, Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein, Enescu (Bucharest) and Kuhmo.
As an avid Chamber-Music player, he enjoys many long-standing collaborations with musicians such as David Geringas, Ulf Hoelscher, and the Mandelring and Emperor Quartets, performing in concerts and festivals throughout Europe, Japan and Korea. He has also recently embarked on some performances as conductor, in particular directing from the keyboard.
This season's performances have included concerts with the Hungarian Philharmonic and Zoltan Kocsis in Budapest, the Enescu Philharmonic and Cristian Mandeal in Bucharest, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Paavo Jarvi in Japan, the London Chamber Orchestra and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He has taken part in Festivals in Alaska, as well as throughout Europe. lan Fountain has made several critically acclaimed recordings, of 20th Century Piano Sonatas for EMI, Beethoven Diabelli Variations (CRD), and complete works of Rachmaninov, Beethoven and Mendelssohn for Haenssler Classics with David Geringas.
Since 2001, lan Fountain has been a piano professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Julia Fischer violin (Germany)
A student of famed violinist Ana Chumachenco, Julia Fischer is herself Germany's youngest Professor of Violin at the Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main. In 2005 she won Germany's coveted ECHO Award for her recording of "Russian Concertos" by Khatchaturian, Prokofiev and Glazounov. Julia has appeared with many prestigious orchestras under celebrated conductors. The singularly most anticipated event of the 2007-08 season will be Julia Fischer's debut as a professional pianist. On a program where she will also play the Glazunov Violin Concerto, Ms. Fischer will perform the Grieg Piano Concerto on 1 January 2008 with Sir Neville Marriner at the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Julia's wide range repertoire includes concertos by Beethoven, Dvorak, Shostakovich (No.1), Prokofiev, Sibelius, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Mozat and other composers. Highlights of the 2007-08 season include syrmphonic appearances with Marek Janowski, Jun Markl, Yakov Kreizberg, Neville Marriner, Christoph Poppen, Tugan Sokhiev, Yuri Temirkanov and Maestro Zinman (among others) with Czech Philharmonic, Danish Radio orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic, London_Philharmonic_Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Vienna Symphony and other orchestras. In the United States Ms. Fischerl toured with Maestro Temirkanov and the St. Petersburg Philhar- monic. The season also included numerous recitals throughout Germany, Spain and Italy in additional to chamber music programs in the United States and Europe. Looking to summer 2008, Ms. Fischer will make several important debuts: Tanglewood Music Festival, Blossom Festival, the BBC Proms at London's Royal Albert Hall and the Tuscan Sun Festival in Cortona, Italy. During the 2007-08 season PentaTone Records released Julia Fischer's third volume of Mozart (Concertante and Concertone) with Maestro Kreizberg, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and soloist Gordan Nikolic (viola and violin). During 2009-10, she will tour her solo Bach sonatas and partitas in Europe and the US. Her Penta Tone discography has gained numerous nominations including the Diapason d'Or, Choc de la Musique and two ECHO awards. Syuzi Yeritsian, violin (Armenia)
Ms. Yeritsyan was born in Yerevan into the family of prominent violin makers. She graduated from the Tchaikovsky Music College (class of distinguished teacher P.Haykazian), Yerevan State Conservatory and postgraduate course (class of Prof. A. Mkrtchyan). As a soloist she many times appeared with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. She participated in a number of festivals like Pommersfelden_and_Schleswig-Holstein (Germany). In 1997 she won the 1st Prize at the International Kocian Competition for Young Violinists (Czech Republic). Syuzi Yeritsyan is the 2nd prize-winner at the Aram Khachatryan International Violin Competition (2005, Armenia). She has given concerts and recitals, appeared as a chamber musician in France, Germany, Czech Republic, Japan, UK, the US, Canada, Syria and Lebanon. Together with the Schleswig-Holstein Festival orchestra she toured Hungary and Brazil, In 2007 was a member of the Khachaturian Quartet. Currently, Syuzi is a postgraduate student of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory (class of Prof. A. Mkrtchyan). Since 2008 Ms.Yeritsyan is the 2nd violinist of the Komitas State Quartet.

Aram Talalyan, cello (Armenia)
In Armenia he studied with Armen Mesropyan, in the U.S.A. he received Master's degree in music and Artist diploma at the Yale University with D. Finch and A. Pariso. Prize winner of numerous competitions: Markneukirchen International Competition (1986, Germany), All-Soviet Union Cello Competition (1988), Yale University Competition (1993, USA). From 1995-1997 was Principal Cellist at New West Symphony Orchestra. In the period of 1995-1997 was a founding member of the Madison Festival of Music in Wisconsin (USA) and a frequent guest artist in music festivals including Alaska's Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival (USA). Joined the Komitas Quartet in 2000. Toured 30 countries of the world with the quartet, as a soloist, with orchestras and international music groups. He is known also as a conductor. Assistant Professor in Chamber Music, Cello and Early Music Departments at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory.

Karmen Tosunyan, violin (Armenia)
Born in 1972. Graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory and postgraduate courses (class of Prof.A.Bogdanian). Since 1993, Karmen is a member of APO (from 2006 as orchestra con- certmaster). Starting from 2003, Karmen Tosunyan participates in all international tours of the World Symphony Orchestra under Valery Gergiev. She regularly appears in various concert programs as well as in chamber music concerts. Karmen is a member of the Serenade Chamber Orchestra.

Meri has appeared with recitals and as soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras performing Bach (Double Concerto for two violins), Sibelius and Prokofiev (No.2) Violin Concertos. Karen Kocharian, cello (Armenia)
Born in Yerevan in 1974. Graduated from Tchaikovsky School of Music (class of prof.A.Chaushian). Later, he continued musical education at the Yerevan Komitas Conservatory (class of prof.G.Talalyan). K.Kocharian is one of the founders of the chamber orchestra "Serenade", as well as its first cello soloist. He has toured with this orchestra as soloist throughout Germany and Holland. From 2000 Kocharian has had a number of performances with the Khachaturian Trio in Switzerland, Mexico, Costa-Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador. Karen is a
member of APO.
