Sevan Central Library (V. Stepanyan system)

The Centralized Library System named after Vahe (V.) Stepanyan of Sevan is one of the largest library institutions in the Sevan community of the Gegharkunik Province, Armenia. It unites the central library and branch libraries operating in various settlements of the community, forming a unified cultural and information network. The system was established in 1977 through the consolidation of district libraries and later developed into a community non-commercial organization named after Armenian literary and public figure Vahe Stepanyan. It provides the population with free and equal access to books, informational resources, and educational materials, including Armenian, Russian, and other language fiction, scientific, children’s, and educational literature. The system plays an active role in the cultural life of the community by organizing reading events, educational programs, literary meetings, thematic discussions, and cooperation with schools and other educational institutions. Over time, it has been modernized with digital resources and information technologies, expanding access to knowledge and learning opportunities. Overall, it plays an important role in promoting reading culture, supporting education, and developing the cultural environment of the Sevan community.
