Dismantling the Ottoman Empire
This scholarly work examines the gradual disintegration and eventual dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, focusing on the political, military, economic, social, and diplomatic forces that transformed the empire and ultimately brought its centuries-long imperial structure to an end. The study places particular emphasis on the complex processes through which Ottoman territories were reorganized, contested, transferred, or incorporated into new political entities, especially during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It explores the impact of European imperial competition, the rise of nationalist movements, internal administrative reforms, military conflicts, economic dependence, and changing concepts of sovereignty on the weakening of Ottoman authority.
